Financial Markets and the Digital Economy: 1 An Empirical Study in India
Main Article Content
Abstract
Financial markets are essential for modern economies, acting as a crucial mechanism to allocate capital, provide liquidity, and facilitate the flow of funds between investors and borrowers. The efficient operation of these markets has traditionally relied on robust information transparency. However, this established structure is being profoundly transformed by the rise of the digital economy, which introduces new technologies, platforms, and financial products. This study presents a comprehensive empirical analysis of the relationship between India's financial markets and its rapidly evolving digital economy. The primary objective is to examine how digital transformation including the widespread adoption of digital payments, FinTech solutions, and emerging technologies impacts key aspects of the financial system. The research specifically investigates the effects on market efficiency, financial inclusion, and the stability of traditional financial institutions within the Indian context. By analyzing relevant data, this paper aims to provide a clear understanding of the key trends and drivers of this transformation, offering valuable insights for policymakers, regulators, and market participants.
