Sudha Murty’s literary works are renowned for masterfully intertwining human emotions and relationships with a distinctly Indian flavour. Her novels often explore themes such as globalization, materialism, marriage, and familial challenges, offering a nuanced portrayal of Indian society. This paper delves into the pervasive influence of materialism in Indian culture, as vividly depicted in Sudha Murty’s novel, House of Cards.
